The History of Wadebridge

The earliest records of Wadebridge and its origin story go as far back as 1313 when it is said that a market and two fairs were granted to Wade, within the manor of Pawton. Made up of two parishes on either side of the River Camel, Wadebridge was initially established as a market town but later found its calling in the wool industry.

Fast forward to the present day, Wadebridge has established itself as one of the most popular places for families looking to settle within the Duchy. The nearest fully-fledged hospital is located a 45-minute drive away at Treliske Hospital in Truro. Bodmin Community Hospital is the nearest point of care.
